Here he is, the Professor, who having had a slight aberration, is being brought back to the Village by his students. And that's the whole crux of the matter. In having tried to run away from the Village, it is the Professor's own students who chase him down along the beach, not No.2 flying a helicopter, or by the white membranic mass of the Village Guardian, but by the people. I have always found that to be a curiosity. Oh, and that's not the actor Peter Howell who played the role of the Professor. Peter Howell never went to Portmeirion for the filming of The General. The man pictured here as the Professor, is one of the gardeners who worked at Portmeirion at the time of filming the Prisoner there. Be seeing you
